The hottest time of the day is arround 13.00 local
time. The humidity might varies depending on the
season which ranges from 750 - 950 during Rainy
Season and get drier on 600 - 750 during Dry Season.
People
About 90 percent of Bali's population practice Bali
- Hinduism with Moslems, Budhists, Cristians making
up the remaining 10 percent. Quite on the contrary,
the Republic of Indonesia is predominantly moslem.
Currency
The unit of currency, is Indonesian Rupiah, or in
short RUPIAH, which comes in coin denomination of
50, 100, 500 and 1,000 and notes 100, 500, 1,000,
10,000, 20,000, 50,000 and 100,000. However, US
dollar and major credit cards (Amex, Visa, Master,
Dinners Club) are generally accepted.
Money
Changer
Money changers are always available in most tourist
areas which offer some very competitive exchange
rates, however, the best rate of exchange is normally
at a bank.
What
to Wear
Light, cotton and casual with short and T-shirt
are common. However when entering most temples,
"cover-up" saroong is normally required
since mini skirts, shorts and revealing tops are
frowned upon.
Accomodation
Hotel accomodations are available from 5 star plus
to budget class. They are scattered in 4 main tourist
resort namely Sanur, Kuta, Nusa Dua and Ubud. However,
you easily find proper accomodation as you travel
to other parts of the island.
Restaurant
To bost the accomodation, mots hotels provide 2
- 4 restaurant inside their property, however, hundreds
of restaurants with various style and cooks are
available in all tourist area throughout the island.
Water
& Drink
Eventhough tap water is available in all tourist
areas and most part of the island, however, it is
not recommended for drinking. The best and safest
way is by buying bottled water which is easy to
find in all part of the island.
Shopping
Bali is a shopper paradise in which souvenirs are
available in every tourist areas. Bargaining is
very common - you suppose to pay about half of the
offered price, however, at supermarket and department
store price are fixed.
Getting
Around
Meter taxi are available most tourist reas like
Sanur, Kuta, Nusa Dua and Denpasar. However they
are most likely unavailable as you go furtherin
to the island.
